Nathaniel (Nate) Coirier

About Nate

Nate studied Electrical Engineering for his B.S. and M.S. at Northwestern University. His current research focus is on using grain of rice sized optical modulators to detect neural activity, in addition to using phototransistor arrays to 3D scan biological samples. He greatly enjoys cooking, in addition to woodworking and reading.

Daniel studied Physics at Reed College. His focus is on single-photon detector fabrication and implementation in quantum systems. He enjoys reading and hiking when outside of the lab.

Hyeonseon studied Nanoscale Engineering at SUNY CNSE. She is interested in solid state electronics and is researching resistive random-access memory devices. In her free time, she likes drawing and playing League of Legends until she hits a losing streak.

Thomas Douglas

About Thomas

Thomas graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2023 from Northwestern University, with research interests in semiconductor device engineering. In 2024, he began a PhD in Electrical Engineering with the Mohseni group, focusing on IC design and fabrication for neural sensors. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, hiking, and attending concerts.

Abdul Bamba

About abdul

Abdul is currently a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at Northwestern University. Prior to joining Northwestern, he earned both his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in 2023, specializing in photonics, optical systems, and solid-state devices. He is passionate about developing innovative nanoscale sensing technologies and optical systems to advance health accessibility, particularly for underserved communities. His research integrates photonics, plasmonics, and opto-electronics, with the goal of advancing humanity through sensitive and cost-effective diagnostic platforms and engineering solutions.

About rafael

Rafael studied Electrical Engineering for his BSc and MSc at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. His research interest are spectroscopy and IR detectors for astronomy. In his free time, he plays tennis and Magic the Gathering.
